With the BMX demo drive-in, Thrill One built portable ramps that could be set up and torn down in a matter of minutes, ensuring the show could nimbly travel to as many locations as possible. Walmart, with the success of its own drive-in movie series earlier this summer, had the footprint to accommodate the setup and as many guests as could safely attend. Ticketing was contactless, with guests able to scan theirs through their windshields, and at least six feet was kept between all cars. Though the show has wrapped for now, Thrill One has given other live event production companies a successful blueprint to follow to safely put on events during the pandemic. “The response from attendees and our partners has been tremendous, and we hope to take this show to more cities across the country,” says Carr.įor the riders, the highlight of the series was reaching kids who may not have had any prior exposure or access to action sports.
